My grandmother taught me something I have carried throughout my life: “Walk for those who can’t walk. Talk for those who can’t talk.”
That lesson shaped how I raised my family, built my career, and understood public service. Vaughan is where my family put down roots, where three generations of us have built our lives, and where I learned the importance of standing up for the people around you.
A RECORD THAT MATTERS
My work has been recognized with the Order of Vaughan, Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, AODA 10th Anniversary Champions Award, City of Toronto Access Award, United Way Spirit Award, and as a 2010 Olympic Torchbearer. I share these
not to impress you, but to show that public service should be measured by what
someone has already done.

WHY I’M RUNNING NOW

I’m not running because I want to be a politician. I’m running because Vaughan needs reps who listen carefully, speak honestly, and take practical action. I am not interested in political theatre or empty promises. I want to bring experience, perspective, and practical action to the Regional Council table.

For more than 30 years, I’ve worked to
create opportunities for people overlooked
by systems meant to serve them. As CEO of Link Up Employment Services for Persons
with Disabilities, I helped build an employment model recognized beyond Vaughan. I also advised Ontario’s Lieutenant Governor David C. Onley on workplace accessibility and wrote two books on inclusion. My work has always been about removing barriers and helping people move forward.

A few years ago, I stepped away from public life. Some of you know why. Others may not. What matters is what that time gave me: distance, perspective, and a clearer understanding of what Vaughan needs
from its elected representatives. I had a choice. I could remain private and watch
our challenges grow, or I could return with something worth contributing. I chose to come back.
